Missoula Excavation, From Test Pit to Final Grade
Elevated Dirt Works is an excavation contractor based in Lolo, Montana. We handle the dirt side of building: digging and backfilling foundations, installing septic systems, running water and sewer lines, preparing sites for concrete and asphalt, building roads and driveways, and clearing lots so the work can start.
Our work runs from Missoula out to Clinton, Huson and Frenchtown, and south through the Bitterroot Valley to Florence, Stevensville and Hamilton. Lolo sits right between the two, so we're close to both. We're on the City of Missoula's list of licensed excavation contractors. We're also a Ravalli County certified septic installer, which matters because Ravalli County only lets certified installers put in septic systems.
We work for homeowners building or adding on, and for general contractors who need an excavation sub who shows up when they say they will. Either way, one crew can take the job from the first test pit to the final grade, so you're not coordinating three companies for one hole in the ground. Excavation FAQs
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Every estimate is free and done on site, because access, slope, soil and what's buried on the property all change the job. Call (406) 239-1799 to set a time.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Elevated Dirt Works is licensed, bonded and insured, and appears on the City of Missoula's list of excavation contractors with current business licenses.
Do you handle septic permits?
Septic systems in Montana need a county permit before installation. We work through the permit process with you, from test pits to the final inspection. In Ravalli County, septic systems must be installed by a county-certified installer, and we are one.
What areas do you serve?
Missoula and the surrounding area, including Lolo, Clinton, Huson, Frenchtown and Bonner, plus Florence, Stevensville and Hamilton in the Bitterroot Valley. See all service areas.
Do you work with general contractors?
Yes. A lot of our work is as the excavation sub for builders on new homes and additions. We know the framing crew is waiting on us, and we schedule accordingly.
Can you dig in the winter?
Sometimes. It depends on frost, snow and access to the site. Call us with the job and we'll tell you what's realistic.
